How to end it with a guy who won’t let you

My worst relationship was super hard to escape! When you date someone who likes to be in control, they don’t really like it when you try to leave them. Every time I tried to break-up with him he would tell me “You can’t, I need you in my life right now…” Well not only is that a selfish reason for him to have wanted me to stay with him…it also has the “right now” aspect which means that he was still not sure about forever.
So I would try to break up with him and I had a million reasons and he would always convince me not to. On top of all the other problems our relationship had, one day I found out that my boyfriend had been cheating on me (which is probably where lots of the problems stemmed from in the first place).I knew if I went to see him to break up with him that he would lie his way out of it and then convince me, for the zillionth time, not to dump him. So I wrote him a descriptive and strongly worded text message instead…and *poof* no more bad relationship!

Now normally I wouldn’t condone the text message break up but in this case it’s necessary. Clearly if you would have seen him in person or did it over the phone he would have just refused to break up. It’s also a good move because he gets your text saying that you’re broken up, and then he can’t argue back because you just ignore his texts and calls…

That’s the thing about text messages or emails, you can’t rebut the issue. I just said my piece and then I didn’t have to listen to his response. It was so simple lol

Depending on the break up, text or over the phone may be the best method. Its never easy being broken up with via technology but it happens. Like carrie on sex and the city.- A post- it. When you’re dealing with a person whos controlling, technology is the best way in most cases to say goodbye, and part ways!
